i install the bacula on ubuntu server 7.1 and i get the error

This file does not exist and thus can't be backed up.

I suppose this is the BackupCatalog Job you're running. So it's time
to check that "/etc/bacula/scripts/make_catalog_backup <dbname> <user>
<password>" does what it's supposed to do, see where it writes the
database dump file, and then change the file set definition to point
to that location.

Once you've got that fixed you might think about the options you have
for upgrading to a more recent version... the 2.2 versions have some
things fixed you'll probably need some day.
